Scope of Work:

The Aircraft Mechanic must accurately repair and perform scheduled maintenance on 737 aircraft and their associated engines and sub-systems to ensure airworthiness.

Responsibilities:

  1. Repairs, replaces and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as cowlings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment.
  2. Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other related documentation to determine feasibility and method of altering or repairing the aircraft and its associated components.
  3. Inspects engines and their associated components for airworthiness, repairs or replaces defective engine parts and associated components.
  4. Troubleshoots, repairs and replaces electrical wiring and associated components.
  5. Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including hydraulic system servicing, engine oil replenishment, aircraft systems lubrication and aircraft fueling.
  6. Interacts with company maintenance control, the customer and manufacturer in matters that concern the airworthiness of the aircraft.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or General Education Diploma, GED, and technical school certificate.
  2. 5 years of relevant hands-on experience with thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures.
  3. Experience working on 737 airframes is highly preferred.
  4. Prior military experience in aviation preferred.
  5. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant License.
  6. Thorough knowledge of current FAA regulations, IPM, and ATA codes.
  7. Familiar with Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
  8. Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) in a timely manner.
  9. Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  10. Must be able to maintain ability to access worksite location to include various military installations and airports.
  11. Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
  12. Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy.
  13. Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  1. Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary.
  2. Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary.
  3. Must be capable of regularly lifting, moving, pulling, and pushing objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  4. Typical outdoor and industrial/hangar environments. Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions.
  5. Must be able to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  6. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
  7. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
  8. Employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels.
