Job summary

TEL Staffing & HR is seeking an experienced engineering professional to join Aircraft Production Company’s design and production teams in Savannah, GA. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 10–15 years of relevant experience, and the ability to work on ITAR-controlled projects with suppliers and internal disciplines.

You will resolve complex engineering issues, set standards, and balance technical, cost and schedule considerations.

Qualifications

  • 10 years in a specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience.
  • Experience with ITAR projects and manufacturing liaison.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes for pressurized environments.
  • Experience liaising with external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines.

Job description

Position Purpose:

Assists with the planning, coordination, performance of design, analysis and liaison engineering supporting the development and production of Aircraft Production Company's products and services.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  • 1. Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
  • 2. Is consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field.
  • 3. Anticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
  • 4. Approach to problem solving balances technical product, cost and schedule.
  • 5. Works without appreciable direction; work is reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results.
  • 6. Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments, and makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.
Additional Functions:
  • 1. Maintains a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Other Requirements:
  • 1. Advanced degree in engineering, or related curriculum preferred The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
  • 2. Preferred Materials and Processes Engineering experience in generating and communicating technical requirements to external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines (Powerplant, Environmental Control, Structures, Electrical, and Mechanical). Smarteam and Catia experience of reviewing proposed designs and workflows. Produced EAR approved test plans and results reports. Must have demonstrated successful manufacturing liaison material review board (MRB) integration and implemented continuous improvement projects.
  • 3. Knowledge of Materials and Processes Engineering experience in selecting materials used in a pressurized and unpressurized environment. Have knowledge of materials containing chemical substances that are identified in any new international and national environmental regulation (REACH, TSCA, EPA); is a plus. Experience with revising materials and processes specifications. Onsite work full time. Candidate must be legally qualified to work on an ITAR project.
  • 4. Works on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development.
