Job summary

SNC is seeking an Aircraft Mission Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations for aviation mission systems. The role requires ensuring compliance with safety standards and relevant FAA regulations while coordinating schedules and supervising a maintenance team.

The candidate will train staff, monitor tool usage, and maintain safety in the work environment, with potential OCONUS travel and deployment as needed to support mission requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • 5+ years of aviation experience.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and safety standards.
  • Willingness to travel, including extended OCONUS deployments.
  • Must pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.

As an Aircraft Mission Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily maintenance tasks, ensuring that all activities are performed in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. You will assist the Aircraft Mission Maintenance Manager in coordinating schedules and managing the maintenance team. This role requires strong leadership abilities to train and develop maintenance staff, monitor the use of tools and materials, and ensure a safe working environment.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily mission maintenance activities to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to schedules.
  • Conduct inspections of mission maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Train and develop maintenance staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Monitor and ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Address maintenance issues and collaborate with other departments to resolve technical problems.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of aviation experience .
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Familiarity with aviation safety standards, FAA regulations, policies, and procedures and safe operating practices.
  • Basic understanding of Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment .
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods of time.
  • Please be advised that this position may require deployment for a period of up to 90 days OCONUS, depending on mission needs. Deployment is not guaranteed and will be determined at the discretion of the supervisor or management, or as otherwise specified.
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required .

  • Ability to obtain a current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally .
  • A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment. Applicants who do not currently have a USG security clearance are welcome to apply and, if selected, will be processed for a USG security clearance by SNC prior to employment. Employment will begin once the USG security clearance is granted. If applicant is unable to obtain USG security clearance, the offer of employment will be withdrawn.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Previous supervisory experience in an aircraft maintenance setting.
  • Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
