Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Indianapolis seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor) to deliver FAA Part 147‑aligned training and provide hands‑on instruction to students preparing for FAA certification.

You will teach systems, procedures and practical skills in classroom and active hangar environments, maintain records, and collaborate with program leadership. Prior teaching not required; a 5‑day paid instructor training program is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA A&P certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Teach FAA‑aligned aircraft maintenance curriculum.
• Provide hands‑on instruction in classroom and hangar.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and progress records.
• Support curriculum updates with program leadership.
• Create a structured, safety‑focused learning environment.
