Job summary

Piedmont Airlines, Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Controller to coordinate maintenance discrepancies and monitor line station issues at our Salisbury, NC operations.

The role requires FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification and at least one year of certified mechanic experience. You will work with Maintenance and Dispatch to minimize MEL/CDL impacts while ensuring safe aircraft availability.

This position is responsible for coordinating maintenance discrepancies and corrections on all operational aircraft, as well as monitoring all line station mechanical problems. The successful candidate will hold a current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certification, possess an understanding of aircraft computer maintenance record keeping systems and have at least one year of experience as a certified mechanic. This position reports to the Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Control.Essential Duties:Coordinate maintenance discrepancies and corrections on all operational aircraftMonitor all line station mechanical problemsReduce and hold maintenance recovery time to a minimumMonitor aircraft availabilityCoordinate equipment changes with Maintenance and DispatchProvide technical assistance to all Maintenance personnelExecute the Minimum Equipment List/Configuration Deviation List (MEL/CDL) programCoordinate parts and staffing requirements for mechanical interruptions, engine changes, and field repairsMonitor field repairs and coordinate return of work crews to their home baseCoordinate with Dispatch and Maintenance Planning for MEL/CDL procedures as outlined in Company manualsArrange charter aircraft for dispatching parts and/or maintenance technicians to outstationsNotify Inspection department of reportable incidents involving any Company operated aircraftCoordinate checking of engine oil quantities and record resultsJob Qualifications and Competencies:Proficient in Microsoft Office SuitePossession of FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification and company-issued licensesOne (1) year experience as a certified mechanicPossess good communication skillsGood working knowledge of the aircraft system and the flight operationKnowledge of the appropriate parts of the Maintenance Policies and Procedures Manual, including applicable provisions of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)Demonstration of a positive attitude toward productivity, quality, and safetyPossess an understanding of aircraft computer maintenance record keeping systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in the maintenance of aircraft of the type operated by the CompanyWork Environment:Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipmentAvailable to work any shift including nights, weekends and holidaysAirport ramp and warehouse environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levelsPhysical Requirements:Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, climbing up and down stairsHandle objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally with assistance from co-workers or toolsThe above statements provide a brief description of the general nature of work performed and not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, duties and skills required for this position.
