Qualifications

Job description

Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company as an Aircraft Field Service Engineer (FSE) on our Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team! Our team supports the F-35 OO-ALC Ogden Depot at Hill AFB, Utah, troubleshooting air vehicle and mission system issues during modifications and upgrades.

As a Nose to Tail (NTT) FSE, the preferred candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Avionics/Mission Systems (MS). It is also desired that the individual has emerging expertise in APG/Vehicle Systems (VS), capable of troubleshooting MS or VS issues.

The candidate will serve as a technical interface between Lockheed Martin AFS and the Ogden Depot customer, resolving issues related to F-35 aircraft modifications.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Troubleshoot and analyze aircraft discrepancies during Depot-level TCTDs, Modifications, Upgrades, & Overhaul (MUO)
  • Participate in maintenance meetings and debriefings to identify and address emerging issues, minimizing aircraft downtime
  • Document operational issues and identify failure trends
  • Initiate Action Requests (ARs) for operational failures, assisting in their documentation and resolution
  • Provide informal training and guidance to customer personnel
  • Travel as required, including deployments to CONUS and OCONUS locations, potentially hazardous or shipboard environments
  • Work effectively with team and customer at all levels, communicating clearly both orally and in writing
  • Support on-site activities, lead engineering efforts, and report status to management
  • Work any shift as needed, including second shift
  • Obtain F-35 Special Program Access and hold at least a Final Secret Security Clearance

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience with 5th Generation Fighter Aircraft (F-22, F-35), focusing on Avionics/Mission Systems (MS) and/or Vehicle Systems (VS)
Desired Skills
  • 3+ years of experience with F-35 Mission Systems/Avionics
  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer (FSE)
  • Experience on all three variants: CTOL, CV, STOVL
  • Ability to communicate with military and senior leadership
  • Fault isolation and problem analysis at subsystem level
  • Technical report writing skills
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with engineering tools like FSE Vision/VAST, PDM, VAS, JEDI, JARVIS, PHM Plotter, CRE
  • Knowledge of CATIA and S/SEE

Security Clearance: Must be a US citizen with at least a Final Secret clearance. Ability to obtain F-35 Special Program Access required.
