Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a skilled MRO Engine Mechanic to disassemble, repair, and reassemble gas turbine engines and components. You will restore engines to peak performance by repairing and fabricating parts, replacing worn components, and ensuring all work meets strict quality and safety standards.

In this role, you will work on 1st shift (Mon-Fri 5:30a-2:00p) in our San Diego, CA facility, with opportunities for overtime.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical docs.
• Experience using precision tools, gauges, and measuring equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshoot and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to tackle challenges.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble gas turbine engines for optimal performance.
• Repair and fabricate engine parts and tooling using sanding, blasting, deburring, and brazing.
• Replace worn or damaged components using precision tools and gauges.
• Ensure parts meet tolerances and quality standards throughout the repair process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve engine module discrepancies with attention to detail.
• Verify tooling is properly calibrated before use.
• Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support production goals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
