Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Aircraft Electrical Technician to perform avionics troubleshooting, installations, repairs, and modifications to F/A-18 aircraft. You will work on radar, communications, and related electrical systems in a heavy-maintenance setting in San Antonio, TX.

The role requires 4–7 years of depot or heavy maintenance experience on aircraft electrical systems, plus the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

  • Experience in avionics systems troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • 4 - 7 years of depot or heavy maintenance experience on aircraft electrical systems.
  • F-18 experience highly preferred.

Aircraft Electrical Technician

Job Description

The Aircraft Electrician will perform avionics troubleshooting, installations, repairs, maintenance, and modifications to the avionics and electrical systems of F/A-18 aircraft. These modifications include upgrades to the Radar Package, Communications, and Comm Sec equipment, among other possible upgrades.

Responsibilities
  • Perform troubleshooting on avionics systems and electrical components.

  • Install and repair fiber optic cables and harnesses.

  • Conduct maintenance and modifications on F/A-18 aircraft, specifically focusing on electrical systems.

  • Upgrade and modify radar and communication systems.

  • Perform operational level maintenance on fighter jets, including F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and Super Hornet models.

Essential Skills
  • Experience in avionics systems troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in fiber optic installation and maintenance.

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.

  • 4 - 7 years of depot or heavy maintenance experience on aircraft electrical systems.

  • F-18 experience highly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Navy Ratings of AE or AT are highly preferred.

  • Experience with NAV - magic box is advantageous.

  • Eligibility for SECRET clearance is required.

  • Must be eligible for a Boeing badge, with no terminations on record.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
