Job summary

SkyWest is seeking an Aircraft Dispatcher to join our 24-hour OCC, based in St. George, UT. The role requires on-site work including training and a forthcoming online knowledge assessment and video interview.

Candidates must possess an Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate and pass FAA checks, with readiness to relocate if needed. Successful applicants will work in a safety-first environment, handle weather data and navigation procedures, and support daily operations across a nationwide network with

Qualifications

• Must possess Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate by January 4, 2027.
• Must be 23 years of age or older by January 4, 2027.
• Must possess a current passport or be willing to apply for one at your own expense.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Ability to demonstrate safety for self and others.
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and shift work.
• FAA background check and pre-employment drug test required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must relocate to SkyWest Corporate Office in St. George, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Sitting at a computer for extended periods.
• Work 10-hour shifts as SkyWest OCC operates 24 hours.
• This position is onsite and in person, including training.
• There will be an online knowledge assessment and video interview.
• Knowledge assessment covers dispatch-related FARS, weather interpretation (METARs/TAFS/PIREPs), and NAVAIDs.

Primary Job Duties

• Sitting at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to work 10-hour shifts. SkyWest OCC is a 24-hour operation.

• The knowledge assessment and interview cover a wide range of topics. All applicants must:
  • Be knowledgeable of dispatch related FARS
  • Be proficient in reading and understanding written weather including, but not limited to, METARS, TAFS, and PIREPS
  • Possess a solid understanding of NAVAIDs and instrument approach procedures
• This is a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position.

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess an Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate by January 4, 2027.
• Must be 23 years of age or older by January 4, 2027.
• Must possess a current passport or be willing to apply for a passport at your own expense
• Able to work under pressure
• Ability to demonstrate safety for self and others
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and shift work
• Successfully pass an FAA background check and a mandated pre-employment drug test
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Must be willing to relocate to the SkyWest Corporate Office in St. George, Utah
