Job summary

HII Mission Technologies in Newport News seeks an Aircraft Carrier SEP Test Engineer (Engineering Technician 3) to support maintenance and testing of nuclear-powered carriers. Onsite role within the E84 SEP Department, applying JFMM and TUM requirements during depot periods.

The position requires an AA/2-year technical degree (or HS+5 years DoD/USN), mastery of drawings, Navy WAFs/eSOMS, and a US security clearance. Onsite work, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• AA or 2-year technical degree or HS with 5 years DoD/USN experience.
• Experience with Navy WAFs and tag-outs using eSOMS/e-Tagout.
• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and test procedures.
• U.S. citizen with Confidential Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers across tasks.
• Collect, maintain, format, analyze data and test results.
• Prepare engineering docs, reports, and drawings like flowcharts/schematics.
• Perform calculations and preliminary data analyses per guidelines.
• Evaluate trajectory, model integrity, and other quantitative aspects.
• Use PCs/software to perform analyses and generate reports.
• Conduct tests and record data to support evaluations.
