Job summary

ORBIS Inc. in San Diego seeks a Senior Engineering Technician (Hull) to support overhaul and repair of Navy ship systems. You will operate on board US Navy aircraft carriers and surface ships, supervising technicians and providing training to sailors for maintenance during deployments.

The ideal candidate has extensive hull/mechanical/electrical experience, a background in Navy 3-M and supply administration, and the ability to guide maintenance and logistical activities on complex hull systems.

Qualifications

• Twelve years experience operating, repairing and maintaining hull, mechanical and electrical equipment and systems on U.S. Navy ships.
• Four years directing or supervising a workforce of lesser skilled technical personnel.
• Five years experience administering the Navy 3-M and supply system.
• Five years experience in damage control, climate control/ventilation, habitability improvements, piping and structural repairs.
• An Associate Degree may substitute for up to two years of technician experience; High School Degree required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• "Find, Fix, and Train" Ship's Force equipment operators and maintenance technicians to enable on-deck maintenance during deployments.
• Provide technical guidance for maintenance and logistics support on aircraft carriers and surface ships (Hull, HM&E, C4I).
• Support overhaul and repair planning for equipment and systems on CVN and surface ships while aboard US naval vessels in San Diego.

Job Description: * The Senior Engineering Technician (Hull) will support maintenance and planning for the overhaul and repair of equipment and systems associated with U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers (CVN) and U.S. Navy Surface Ships.

• Work will be performed on board US Naval vessels located in San Diego, CA.
• The salary for this position is 85 -105K
• The support will include providing aircraft carriers and the surface fleet a team of experts in Navy systems/equipment maintenance, for both preventive and equipment maintenance training.
• The Senior Engineering Technician (Hull) will "Find, Fix, and Train" Ship's Force equipment operators and maintenance technicians, with the goal of enabling sailors to maintain and repair equipment during their operational deployments.
• The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing technical guidance for successfully conducting maintenance, including logistical support, in the following areas on aircraft carriers and surface ships: Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E), aviation equipment and systems, Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Intelligence (C4I) combat support systems and equipment. Required Skills and Experience:
  • a. Twelve (12) years experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of hull, mechanical, and electrical equipment and systems of U.S. Naval ships is required, including:
  • b. Four (4) years of experience directing or supervising a work force of lesser skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.
  • c. Five (5) years experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system.
  • d. Five (5) years experience in damage control, climate control/ventilation, habitability improvements, piping, and structural repairs.
  • e. An Associate Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two (2) years of technician experience. Degree Requirements: * High School Degree
