AAA USA Inc. is seeking an Assembly Technician to support fabrication and sub-assembly of composite panels and spars for aircraft structures. This role involves precise assembly to blueprints and specs, with the potential for travel to Kinston, NC and relocation as needed.

The position requires 2 years of aviation production experience, familiarity with drilling tools and torqueing, and the ability to work all shifts including overtime. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in aviation production or equivalent.
  • Experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torqueing tools.
  • Ability to work any shift, including overtime, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and install parts to quality requirements using blueprints, changes, specs, and work orders.
  • Complete data gathering to facilitate assembly progression.
  • Set up and perform manual and automated assembly operations and portable machine functions.
  • Perform pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, testing or checks during assembly progression.
  • Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies as required.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to complete assignments.
  • Report and investigate handicaps such as errors in parts or procedures.
  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily duties.
  • Move product within area and hand off to next operation; may move across building.
  • Train, coach and assist employees to support continuous flow of product.
  • Document discrepancies according to specs, process, and procedure.
  • Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified.

The Assembly Technician will support the fabrication and sub-assembly of composite panels and spars. The role involves working on highly technical composite parts used in the production of aircraft structures. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an innovative aerospace project, focusing on the precision and quality of composite component manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with blueprints, changes, specifications, work orders, etc. to assemble and install to quality requirements parts and assemblies.
  • Complete required data gathering transactions to facilitate assembly progression.
  • Setup and perform all manual and automated assembly operations, and portable machine functions required to accomplish assignments.
  • Perform any and all required pickup, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, functional testing or check during or after final assembly and/or assembly progression.
  • Move and/or obtain correct parts, materials, tools, assemblies, etc.
  • Use precision measuring instruments required to accomplish work assignments.
  • Report and/or investigate job handicaps such as: errors in parts, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g., where applicable, replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc. as related to basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties).
  • Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including across isle, using shop assigned equipment as required, and complete transactions necessary to move product to the next operation. On an exception basis, move product to the next operation within a building.
  • Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training, coaching and assisting employees of all classification levels.
  • Document any discrepancies according to specification, process, and procedure.
  • Cross trains in inspection and becomes SIA qualified.
Requirements:
  • 2 years' minimum experience in aviation production or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torqueing tools.
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift to include working overtime as needed.
