Paramedic, AirCare Mobile Integrated Health, PRN 12 hr. Days

Job Summary:

Functions independently as part of the Mobile Medicine Paramedicine team, responsible for in-home assessments and care of patients eligible for the Mobile Integrated Health program. Provides patient care promoting safety and efficiency, under supervision of Medical Control Physician or approved treatment protocols.

The practice emphasizes longitudinal assessment, participation in multidisciplinary treatment plans, and communication/referral within the care team.

Education/Experience:
  • Paramedic certification from an accredited program or an A.A.S. in paramedic studies.
  • Preferred: Three years of Paramedic Level experience.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and NC-OEMS certification required.
  • ACLS & PALS may be required within one year in certain areas.
  • Certified Community Paramedic (CP-C) credential required within 1 year of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
Essential Functions:
  • Respect patient rights and confidentiality, comply with HIPAA and policies.
  • Accurate documentation of patient care.
  • Effective communication within the healthcare team.
  • Provide quality care and education per policies and standards.
  • Interpret data, respond appropriately, participate in performance improvement.
  • Administer medications and IV solutions safely.
  • Maintain environment, restock supplies, ensure vehicle readiness.
  • Utilize technology effectively for assessments and data collection.
  • Understand ethics and cultural competency in primary care evaluations.
  • Perform and maintain competency in point of care testing.
  • Demonstrate teamwork within the care team.
Skills/Qualifications:

Ability to provide patient care, strong communication, collaborative work, adaptability to diverse patient needs, rapport building, physical ability to carry supplies, proficiency in documentation, willingness to learn additional skills, operate vehicle safely.

Work Environment:
  • Handle emergency situations, stressful conditions, and drive in all weather.
  • Enter unclean or unpleasant homes, wear PPE, handle short-notice absences.
Physical Requirements:

Varies from standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, dexterity, talking, hearing, seeing, to lifting weights up to 100 lbs.
