AirCare Paramedic, Ground Transports, Full-Time Days or Nights
AirCare is part of an EMS network serving patients in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and South Carolina, including air (helicopter) and ground ambulances stationed strategically to provide fast, safe transportation for critically ill and injured patients.
Provides emergency care to patients according to protocols set by NCCEP and N.C. Office of EMS. Serves as a care team member in the Emergency Department, working within the scope of practice outlined by agreements with N.C. EMS and the Medical Center. Serves patients across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Paramedic certification from an accredited program or an A.A.S. degree in paramedic studies or equivalent. Three years of emergency service experience preferred.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and NC-OEMS EMT-P certification required. ACLS or PALS may be required within one year in some areas. Critical care certification or national registry paramedic preferred. Maintains certification through approved NC-OEMS providers.
Ability to provide comprehensive patient care, communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and respond appropriately to diverse patient needs. Proficient in electronic documentation and compliant with applicable laws and policies.
Handles emergency situations in a potentially stressful, crowded environment, with physical activities including lifting up to 100 lbs, standing, walking, and other movements necessary for patient care. Must wear PPE as required.
