Job Description

This position is eligible for a $7500 Sign-On Bonus if eligibility requirements are met!

AirCare Paramedic, Ground Transports, Full-Time Days or Nights

AirCare is part of an EMS network serving patients in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and South Carolina, including air (helicopter) and ground ambulances stationed strategically to provide fast, safe transportation for critically ill and injured patients.

Job Summary:

Provides emergency care to patients per treatment protocols in accordance with NCCEP and N.C. Office of EMS standards. Serves as a care team member in the Emergency Department, addressing neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Education/Experience:

Paramedic certification from an accredited program or an A.A.S. degree in paramedic studies; three years of Emergency Service experience preferred.

Licensure & Certification:

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and NC-OEMS EMT-P certification required. ACLS or PALS may be required within one year in some areas. Critical care or national registry paramedic preferred. Maintains certification through approved NC-OEMS providers.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides patient- and family-centered care, evaluating emergencies and collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Ensures a safe, respectful environment, utilizing technology and equipment effectively.
  • Communicates effectively within the care team and with patients.
  • Participates in professional development, peer review, and adherence to standards of care.
  • Acts as a patient advocate across care settings and in the community.
  • Identifies clinical priorities, initiates actions to improve outcomes.
  • Uses medications and treatments within scope, under physician orders.
  • Performs point of care testing and documentation as per policies.
  • Supports evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitates patient flow and safety in the Emergency Department.
Skills/Qualifications:

Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care, communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and evaluate verbal/nonverbal cues from diverse patient populations. Physical ability to lift and move patients, proficiency in electronic documentation, and adherence to legal and organizational policies are required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Handles emergency situations, works in a stressful environment, wears PPE, and performs physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
