Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Disassemble air brake components using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
• Clean, wash, buff, and prepare components for remanufacturing.
• Inspect parts and identify defects, damage, or non-conforming conditions.
• Follow detailed work instructions, SOPs, routing documents, and safety procedures.
• Process materials according to production schedules and workflow requirements.
• Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace following 5S standards.
• Rotate between workstations and support production flow as needed.
• Communicate production issues, material shortages, and safety concerns to leadership.
• Cross-train in multiple work areas to support operational flexibility.

Location: Kansas City, MO

Pay Rate: $20.75 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Flexibility to work overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.

Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.

• Ability to safely use hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, automotive, assembly, or mechanical environments.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of workplace organization and 5S principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred.
• Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Airbrake Technician.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
• Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
