Job summary

Raytheon in El Segundo, CA seeks a Principal Systems Engineer, IPTL, to lead integration and execution on airborne spectrum dominance programs. This onsite role centers in El Segundo, CA and reports to the Program Leadership Team, ensuring technical leadership and timely delivery.

The position requires a STEM degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience and active Secret clearance. Travel to support the program will be required, with relocation assistance possible.

Role Summary

Principal Systems Engineer, Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) supporting development programs within the Airborne Spectrum Dominance portfolio. Onsite role located in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities

• Meet contractual commitments including financial, technical, and schedule performance of assigned program(s) within contractual boundaries and company expectations
• Provide technical execution leadership required to design, develop, integrate & test, verify, qualify and deliver a system that complies with performance requirements
• Communicate program status, accomplishments, issues, and help needed to Raytheon leadership and customer community
• Contribute to developing and aligning on common program vision and execution strategies as a member of the Program Leadership Team
• Manage development maturation of emerging technology to deliver a production‑ready design, within a challenging schedule and system
• Actively identify, manage, and mitigate risks or capture opportunities
• Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members
• Travel as necessary to support the Program

Qualifications You Must Have

• Degree in STEM with a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience with work products related to requirements decomposition, analysis, algorithms, and/or tracking
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date and U.S. citizenship required

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with defense system development process
• Working knowledge of USG and RTX contract formation, execution, and management
• Experience with leading development and maintenance across multiple program sites
• Program Management certification (RTX Level 6 equivalent or above)
• Experience with EVMS, IMP/IMS, or Risk and Opportunity Management
• Excellent presentation and proposal skills
• Champion RTX values while managing multiple competing priorities
