Job summary

Woolpert is seeking an Embedded Systems & Sensor Software Engineer to join our Advanced Sensing team. You will lead the development of software, embedded systems, and operator experiences for airborne LiDAR and remote sensing platforms.

You will own software architecture spanning hardware control through field deployment, diagnostics, and lifecycle support, collaborating with sensor hardware, avionics, and flight operations to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing embedded software architectures for airborne systems.
• Experience integrating sensors and subsystems in hardware-software co-design.
• Ability to develop intuitive operator interfaces and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software architecture for airborne LiDAR and imaging systems.
• Oversee sensor integration including laser subsystems, GNSS/INS, cameras, and aircraft interfaces.
• Develop operator interfaces, calibration procedures, and diagnostic workflows.
• Support reliability through health monitoring and predictive maintenance.
