Job summary

Precise Systems Inc. seeks a Test Technician to support Sonobuoy test activities within the Airborne ASW Systems Engineering Division. This on-site role involves preconditioning units, testing in open ocean environments, and ensuring compliance with performance specifications for AN/SSQ series sonobuoys.

Required education includes an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience; a minimum of five years with OIS and ordnance management is preferred. Travel to field sites and labs is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 4 years related work experience.
• Five (5) years of professional work experience recommended with OIS and ordnance management.
• Willingness to travel to Navy or commercial aircraft and research vessels.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and advises EDT/IPT leaders on operational system requirements for airborne ASW systems.
• Analyzes logistic requirements for development and testing of Air ASW systems; provides resource and life-cycle cost estimates.
• Leads special studies to consider logistics constraints in ASW system development.
• Identifies short- and long-range planning guidance for maintenance, inventory, and availability.
• Maintains certification to operate the Ordnance Information System (OIS) to support readiness assessments.
• Liaises with Navy commands, squadrons, and suppliers through the SLWG to ensure timely delivery of sonobuoys.
• Provides SME support to the Technical POC for Production Sonobuoy contracts; manages contract communications.
• Develops technical manuals, DEMIL plans, and EOD plans; supports documentation reviews and program offices.
