Job summary

Department of Ecology in Richland, WA seeks a licensed Environmental Engineer 3 to support the Hanford site-wide air operating permit programs and NOC orders. You will assess permits, negotiate requirements, and ensure compliance with federal and state air and CERCLA regulations.

You will collaborate with national labs, state and federal agencies, and industry partners, contributing engineering expertise to cleanup efforts and program improvement in a visible role.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Washington and 3 years of environmental engineering experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• DOE badge requirements must be met for access to Hanford Site.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional engineering review of documents supporting air permits and compliance.
• Conduct air compliance inspections and prepare inspection reports with enforcement recommendations.
• Apply state and federal air regulations to permitting and cleanup for Hanford and other facilities.
• Engage with project teams and coordinate with managers on schedule and deliverables.
• Represent Ecology on Hanford cleanup issues in meetings with agencies, labs, and industry.
