Job summary

Serco is seeking an Air Traffic Controller for its Salem, OR location. The role involves directing air traffic, issuing clearances, and coordinating weather and operational data to ensure safe and efficient movement of aircraft.

Candidates must hold a Tower Rating or CTO and meet FAA medical and security clearance requirements. Incentives include a sign-on bonus up to $10,000, housing stipend, relocation allowance, and other pay benefits.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required.
• FAA Second Class Medical Certificate is required.
• CTO rating or Credential with a Tower Rating plus 6 months experience per 14 CFR 65.39 is required.
• For ATCS with Tower Credential, FAA knowledge requirements and experience per 14 CFR 65.35 and 65.39 are recognized.
• Eligibility to work under Federal Immigration Laws is required.
• Pre-employment drug screening is required.
• Must obtain FAA security clearance (interim and final).
• Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Responsibilities

• Answer radio calls from arriving/departing aircraft.
• Issue landing and takeoff instructions.
• Provide information on runway usage, wind, visibility, taxi routes, and other aircraft in the area.
• Issue air traffic clearances.
• Perform weather observations as LAWRS observer and disseminate data to pilots and facilities.
• Transfer and receive control of aircraft.
• Operate radios, radar, computer systems, and other ATC equipment.
• Alert responders to aircraft emergencies.
• Coordinate with airport vehicles and personnel; maintain daily operation records.
• Provide on-the-job training as needed.
