Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing Northern California – Air Toxics in Folsom, CA is seeking a Laboratory Director to lead operations, manage budgets, and ensure quality and production targets are met. The role requires 7+ years of environmental lab management, a scientific degree, and hands-on VOC analysis and GCMS experience.

Responsibilities include safety, compliance, staffing, client relationships, and cross-functional leadership to drive growth and efficiency with a strong focus on profitability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field.
• Minimum of 7 years of environmental lab management experience.
• Strong leadership, initiative, and team-building skills.
• Experience with laboratory operations and services.
• Proven ability to manage a team of at least 20 scientists and technicians.
• Proficiency in VOC analysis under SW846 or EPA TO method guidelines.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and delegation abilities.
• Ability to handle contracts and negotiations effectively.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall operational and administrative leadership for laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, compliance, and financial performance.
• Drive revenue growth and profitability while meeting turnaround time, quality, and customer service objectives.
• Oversee implementation of new technologies and systems into production to support growth and compliance.
• Lead and support Project Management, client relationships, and long-term partnerships.
• Coordinate staff development, coaching, training, performance management, and succession planning.
• Establish and monitor productivity, quality, and safety metrics; implement improvements as needed.
• Provide monthly performance reports and participate in workforce planning and recruitment.
