Job summary

thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services in Lafayette, IN, is seeking a Warehouse Team Lead II to oversee warehouse operations on assigned shifts. You will coordinate a team that receives, stores, and distributes materials, while ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.

This role requires hands-on leadership on the warehouse floor, training of new staff, and input to supervisors on performance. You will help drive timely execution, safety adherence, and efficient use of tools and equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor, team lead or mentor.
  • Ability to foster teamwork between diverse activities.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication, emotional intelligence (EQ), decisiveness and adaptability skills.
  • Familiar with project management and planning.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite / tools.

Job SummaryThe Warehouse Team Lead II oversees operations for the warehouse during assigned shifts. Coordinates a team that receives, stores, and distributes materials, equipment, and/or supplies. Provides on-the-job training as needed. Ensures completion of work and customer requirements while complying with all company quality and safety processes. Responsible to provide input to Supervisor or Manager regarding employee performance. This role has little authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.Job Description**Hours: Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm &2 - 3 weekends per month as needed**Key Accountabilities:Lead by example; practicing professionalism and good organizational skills in all areas inclusive of internal and external warehouse activities.Set day-to-day operational objectives for the team.Leads processes and teams associated with planning, directing, and monitoring all warehouse activities related to movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, packaging and machinery.Oversee diverse assignments and proper completion of work activities of employees in various work groups and/or shifts.Monitors operations for compliance with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution where applicable.Ensure all employees work safely and in accordance with company health and safety policies and procedures.Responsible for the coordination of shift start-up activities as well as end of shift clean up or other activities.Ensure appropriate tools and materials are available for completion of jobs.Provide on the job training for any new work instructions when applicable.Provide input to Supervisor or Manager regarding performance.Report any accidents or incidents that occur immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.Report any policy or procedure violations to Supervisor or Manager.Participate, support and comply with all health and safety initiatives and requirements.This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor or around heavy machinery.Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirement for the performance of this job.
