Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Air Quality Project Manager to oversee air permitting and compliance across power, industrial, commercial, transportation and manufacturing sectors. The role offers varied projects and advancement within the Environmental Air practice.

The successful candidate will prepare permit packages, assess sites for compliance, estimate emissions, and coordinate with clients to manage budgets and schedules. Strong communication and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related Science or Engineering; minimum 7 years of applicable experience (10 years preferred).
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Consulting experience related to air permitting/compliance preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local air regs (Clean Air Act) and related permitting.
• Experience with air quality dispersion models is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication of technical info.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare air permit application packages and documentation.
• Conduct environmental site assessments to ensure compliance with air quality requirements.
• Calculate and estimate routine emissions and greenhouse gases.
• Manage projects, budgets, and timelines with clients and team members.
• Assist with SWPPPs, SPCC Plans, and EPCRA filings.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies.
• All other duties as assigned.
