Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a forward-thinking Project Director to lead regional air quality projects within our Industrial Clean Air Act practice. You will drive business development and coordinate technical efforts, shaping strategic solutions for complex regulatory challenges in the solid waste sector.

You will report to an Officer and may operate in a hybrid setup from any SCS office, focusing on client growth and project execution with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering, meteorology, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience helping industrial clients comply with federal and state air regulations.
• Experience working as a consultant is required.
• Extensive experience with air and GHG regulations is required.
• Professional Engineer or other relevant professional registration is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate clients for industrial CAA services and win new work.
• Lead air quality projects including regulatory analyses, permitting, and emissions studies.
• Maintain high visibility through client contacts and industry events.
• Serve as technical expert and trainer on air quality matters and regulations.
• Provide consulting on air permitting (NSR/PSD/Title V/GHG) and health risk assessments.
• Oversee project scoping, device selection, emissions measurements, and related studies.
• Manage project teams with technical leadership, risk management, and mentoring.
• Help recruit and train additional staff.
