The role requires coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies, conducting analyses, and assisting with dispersion modeling and reporting. A degree in engineering or related field is essential, with EI/PE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (Environmental, Biological, Chemical, Mechanical, or related), Atmospheric/Environmental Science, or related field.
• Engineering Intern (EI) certification or Professional Engineering (PE) licensure preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience air permitting and compliance.
• Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization and must possess excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
• Ability to operate computer, using technical software, which includes computer-aided drafting and other applications, spreadsheets, and other business software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and coordination of air quality permitting and compliance projects for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate the technical aspects of a variety of air quality permitting and compliance services.
• Prepare and review air permit applications.
• Research specifications, materials, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct emissions calculations for industrial processes.
• Perform state and federal regulatory applicability analyses.
• Assist with air dispersion modeling, environmental data analysis, and preparation of technical reports.
• Assist with annual compliance and Clean Air Act reporting (Title V, emission inventories, cap & trade, NSPS, NESHAP, TRI, Tier II, etc.).
• Assist with compliance plan development.
• Assist with air quality monitoring, field investigations, audits, sampling, and collection of environmental data.
• Review technical reports.
• Provide technical recommendations.
