Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Principal to lead Air Quality initiatives in the Pacific Northwest. The role combines technical leadership with business development, managing projects across sectors and guiding staff in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

You will oversee regulatory compliance, client relations, and strategic growth while mentoring staff and contributing to Ramboll’s sustainable mission in the United States.

Qualifications

• Requires 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting focused on air quality and growth within the field.
• Demonstrates ability to interpret environmental regulations and apply them to real-world situations.
• Able to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and priorities.
• Proven business development capabilities to support firm growth.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
• Manage projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations.
• Critically review and interpret local, state, and federal environmental regulations; draft regulatory determinations.
• Oversee preparation of comprehensive federal and state air permit materials.
• Testify at administrative and/or court hearings.
• Participate in local, national, and international scientific and trade group meetings.
• Conduct site visits.
