Job summary

The State of Arizona’s ADEQ seeks an Environmental Engineer to support SIP revisions and air quality planning. You will act as a subject matter expert on air quality regulations and model emissions to support control strategies and regulatory reports to the U.S. EPA.

The role offers full-time remote work within Arizona, with flexible schedules under the State’s remote work program and opportunity for collaboration across divisions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
• Engineering principles and environmental technology.
• Chemistry knowledge of substances and transformations in the environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze ambient air quality and emissions data.
• Develop emission inventories using EPA methodologies.
• Evaluate feasibility and effectiveness of control measures.
• Model air quality to identify emissions sources and control impacts.
• Assist drafting and revising air pollution rules under the Clean Air Act.
• Coordinate and host public meetings on rulemakings.
• Present findings to decision-makers and stakeholders.
