Job summary

State of Wyoming's Air Quality Division seeks a Compliance Inspector to perform high-level engineering tasks, inspect facilities, assess emissions controls, and prepare detailed reports for regulatory compliance. The role may be based in Lander, WY or Pinedale, WY, with opportunities for training and collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 1-2 years of experience, and a PE license within one year; travel for inspections is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• 1-2 years of progressive work experience in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required at time of hire; Wyoming PE within one year.

Responsibilities

• Inspects facilities to ensure technical, policy, and regulatory compliance; documents findings.
• Writes clear, detailed reports based on evaluations and provides guidance to industry.
• Trains and mentors junior staff; reviews submissions, permits, and monitoring data.
• Represents the AQD in coordination with legal actions and enforcement activities.
