Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a strategic leader for the Air Quality & Acoustics Business Line, responsible for growth, financial performance, and market positioning.

The BLL partner with the Technical Service Leader to align excellence with national growth, guiding strategy, resource forecasting, and digital transformation investments, while engaging the National Sales Team and regional leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related degree; 17 years experience required.
• Experience on construction sites or executing program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water.
• Proven success in business development, client management, and team leadership.
• Experience supporting modern delivery methods and digital transformation initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work overtime on short notice; fast-paced environment.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to collaborate with owners, contractors, engineers, designers in multi-disciplined teams.
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Drive business performance through sales, revenue, gross margin, backlog, and utilization metrics; develop annual business plans.
• Identify profitability and scalability initiatives.
• Lead national growth strategies and major pursuits; executive client engagement.
• Commercialize new service offerings and digital solutions.
• Forecast workforce demand and secure resources; plan succession.
• Monitor national utilization and capacity; balance workloads.
• Align regional teams to strategic goals; manage investment priorities.
• Build and sustain strategic client relationships; strengthen Burns & McDonnell's brand.
• Mentor future leaders; foster innovation and investments in new services.
