Job summary

Williams is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Tulsa to manage end-to-end air permitting and regulatory approvals for rapid Power Innovation projects. You will develop permitting strategies, coordinate among technical, legal, and regulatory teams, and track obligations through development and construction.

The role supports a hybrid work model, focuses on evaluating new opportunities, and contributes to the strategy and execution of permit conditions and compliance for multi-state projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 4 years' air permitting and compliance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years' air permitting and compliance experience; preferred: 3+ years in air permitting of power/heavy industry projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 15 years' air permitting and compliance experience; preferred: 10+ years in air permitting of power/heavy industry projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead air permitting analysis and application development efforts for natural gas fired power generation.
  • Support scoping of new prospective opportunities, evaluating feasibility and permitting pathways across multiple states.
  • Assess permitting risks, provide recommendations to address risk and participate in or run the approved course of action.
  • Work with operations to shape and develop permit conditions and compliance strategies.
  • Maintain, improve and provide guidance on environmental processes/policies.
  • Coordinate environmental planning, scheduling and cost estimating, including preparation of air permitting and air modeling impact assessments.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to others and engage with industry associations and environmental communities.
  • Lead projects or programs with significant risk and complexity to achieve objectives; develop strategy for project execution and resource planning.
