Responsibilities

• Run daily activity reports and maintain awareness of live shipments.
• Prepare and send client reports / KPIs / QBRs and investigations.
• Provide shipment updates and escalations to management and clients.
• Monitor live bookings / collection orders and assist with pricing inquiries.
• Understand client tariffs and respond to shipping queries with quotations.
• Maintain site lists and distribute starter packs as needed.
• Identify strategies to improve service quality and productivity.
• Monitor client profitability and ensure alignment with agreed targets.
• Utilize Sterling's operating systems for daily tasks.
• Assist in development of client COPs.

The Operational Key Account Manager is responsible for the day‑to‑day operational execution and overall service performance of assigned key account(s). The role requires hands‑on management of daily shipment jobs within the company’s systems, proactive monitoring of operational activities and exceptions, and timely coordination with customers and internal stakeholders. The position ensures customer requirements and service expectations are consistently met while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and long‑term account development. This poisition will sit in Erlanger, KY.

How you create impact

• Run daily activity reports and maintain overall awareness of live shipments
• Complete and send client reports/ KPls / QBR and Investigation reports in accordance with specific client requirements
• Attend off site meetings
• Provide shipment specific updates where required
• Escalate all client issues to the management team and applicable business development account manager
• Customs invoice / shipping approvals
• Monitor / assist with live bookings / collection orders
• Understand client tariffs and handle quotations I pricing requests I shipping queries
• Maintain site lists and distribute site letters / starter packs where required
• Identify and implement strategies to improve quality of service and productivity
• Monitor client profit and loss accounts to maintain agreed levels of profitability
• Efficiently utilize Sterling's proprietary operating systems
• Assist in development of client COPs
