Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in the United States is seeking an Air Gateway Agent who will ensure timely, cost-effective movement of air export freight managed by the Air Gateway department. You will process MAWB consolidations, set trade-lanes, and apply ATA procedures.

The Air Gateway Agent is responsible for timely, cost effective movement of air export freight managed by the Air Gateway department as directed by the Supervisor and/or Manager. The position is responsible for processing of MAWB consolidations, set trade-lanes encompassing all aspects of the ATA process. Operational experience in the airfreight industry including but not limited to prior experience with warehousing/ airline/ GHA/ freight forwarder Air Export Gateway operations.

• Provide excellent customer service and on-going commitment to quality and data integrity
• Prepare, handle and process documentation needed for air export consolidations
• Interact and collaborate closely with the air export departments in the region
• Arrange bookings with carriers; optimize cargo consolidations
• Ensure timely processing and delivery to the airport; constant communication with the warehouse team and truck dispatch during the consolidation process
• Track & trace shipments; monitor vendor performance; address and resolve service irregularities
• Contribute to maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal customers
• Maintain compliance standards at all times, including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations and customer requirements
• Meet key performance indicators (KPIs) to support department, branch, product and company goals
• Responsible for daily updating and monitoring of reporting tools
• Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency
• Support pricing team on rate quotes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Base wage is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
