Job summary

The Air Import Specialist role at DHL Global Forwarding in Philadelphia, PA focuses on managing movement of air import shipments and serving as the main contact between customers and carriers. You will coordinate bookings, prepare import documents, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining accurate records.

You will work with cross-functional teams to meet KPIs, handle invoicing and profiles, and communicate shipment status to customers.

Responsibilities

• Completes coordination between all applicable parties for air import shipments; ensures timely airline bookings.
• Prepares import documentation per country requirements; Arrival Notice, Cargo Manifest, Delivery Order, and related docs.
• Filing of 1F or Inbond 7512; manage arrivals for import ACE requirements.
• Coordinate with customer and warehouse to ensure timely cargo delivery.
• Regularly inform customer of shipment status and coordinate with overseas teams for updates.
• Ensure accurate invoicing and maintain file finances and profitability.
• Keep customer profiles accurate and up-to-date.
• Meet global KPIs assigned.

Job Title:

Air Import Specialist

Job Location:

Philadelphia, PA

As an Air Import Specialist, you will be responsible for the movement of our customer's air import shipments. You will be the main point of contact for coordination between customer's shipment imports and shipping carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completes coordination between all applicable parties for all air import shipments for our customers; ensures timely bookings with airline on customer behalf
• Prepares import documentation in accordance with country requirements as well as the preparation of Arrival Notice, Cargo Manifest, Delivery Order, Carriers BOL and any other documents required by the customer
• Compliant filing of 1F or Inbond 7512 and arrivals for import customs ACE requirements
• Responsible for timely completion of import documents and coordinate with both customer and/or warehouse for timely delivery of cargo
• Communicates regularly with customer in regard to customer's shipment status as well as continuous communication with overseas to meet delivery commitments; follow-up with airline to monitor and track departure and arrival information and updates
• Ensures invoicing of rendered services is completed accurately and, in a timeframe, consistent with company policy. This includes responsibility of file finances and profitability
• Ensure customer profiles are accurate and updated
• Meet all global KPI's assigned

Skills / Requirements:

• 1+ year experience in the transportation, logistics, or freight forwarding industry; air import experience preferred but not required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Detail oriented and strong follow-up skills
• Proficient with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Cargo Wise systems knowledge is a plus

Pay Range

$32.21/hr. in accordance with the CBA
