Job summary

Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office is seeking an Air Guard Security Officer to safeguard SDANG facilities and equipment. This role involves 24/7 security, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays with six-month shift planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of relevant work experience.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Must complete firearm safety training and annual requalification.
• Must pass Air Guard background check and pre-employment process.

Responsibilities

• Provide armed security across entry points, aircraft, hangars, munitions and sensitive facilities.
• Deter threats, monitor surveillance, and respond to incidents to ensure safe operations.
• Maintain and responsibly use weapons, vehicles, and security equipment.
• Operate security desk, monitor communication lines, alarms and cameras to keep information flowing.
