Job summary

Noatum Logistics is seeking an Air Freight Product Supervisor to join our team in the United States. You will oversee air procurement in the assigned geography, align with regional leadership on policies, and guide tendering for pricing based on local market conditions.

You will maintain relationships with air carriers and vendors, participate in monthly meetings, support sales with air product knowledge, and help improve rates and services with operations.

Qualifications

  • Two years college or equivalent combination of education and freight transportation experience.
  • 4-5 years transportation company experience, preferably in rating or pricing.
  • Competent math skills using units of currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret transportation air tariffs.
  • Knowledgeable in TSA carrier regulations and TSA approved user.
  • Competency in PC, spreadsheets, and database applications (including Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skill

Responsibilities

  • Support Noatum Logistics’ sales and operations organizations through effective communication and customer service in providing competitive rates/ costs and securing business.
  • Utilize knowledge of TSA carrier regulations for the airfreight in selecting carrier appropriate for transport. (Air Specialist, only)
  • Utilize both global operating system (CargoWise) and rate management software tools (Web Cargo) to build rates.
  • Responsible for Airfreight RFQ support, by both securing and compiling rates where needed.
  • Support Pricing & Air Product teams with air freight contract and carrier management.
  • Gather statistical data pertaining to additional sales/up-selling opportunities, re-quotes, and customer behavior information.
  • Provide pricing team feedback and data regarding competitive pricing and methodologies based on customer interactions.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of global service offerings to educate /engage the customer as their transportation needs require.
  • Participate as an effective team member with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain courteous, prompt, and efficient customer relations.
  • Comply with all necessary procedures to assure a clean, properly organized, safe and healthy environment for all personnel.

About The Role

We are looking for an Air Freight Product Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Noatum Logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for the support of global business by being responsible for the Air procurement in the assigned Geography and is counterpart to the Country/Regional Head of Airfreight for implementation of new policies and new projects, adherence to core carrier usage, fulfillment of BSA and other policy related airfreight product. The Air Product Supervisor gives guidance to tender management for pricing based on the local market conditions within the assigned geography. As well keeps the relationship with local Airfreight vendors (airlines, local handlers…) and meets frequently key contacts in the assigned geography. Participates on monthly meetings to update the Air Product Organization for new products, market trends or events and participates in local sales calls and discussions about new business opportunities – actively supports sales with air product knowledge and organizes internal workshops to update operations and sales about new air products. Works also closely with operations for procurement and improvement on regular business, services and rates to increase the GM for the assigned geography.

What We Are Looking For

  • Competent math skills using units of currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret transportation air tariffs. (Air Specialist, only)
  • Knowledgeable in TSA carrier regulations and is a TSA approved user.
  • Competency in PC, spreadsheets, and database applications (including Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skill
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CargoWise, Cargosphere, and WebCargo.
  • College degree in business, transportation, or logistics.
  • 7+ years related industry experience.
  • Freight pricing/procurement experience.
  • Established knowledge of carrier contracts and transpacific service options.
Physical Requirements
  • The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Activities include extended periods of sitting while working at a computer and occasional fast-paced operations and events.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and co-workers. Regular use of the telephone, virtual meetings, and e-mail for communication. Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to prepare or inspect documents.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculators, and copiers.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, use hands to grasp, or feel and operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad.
