Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Chicago, IL seeks an Air Freight Export Director to lead end-to-end airfreight operations at ORD. You will drive strategy, oversee P&L, and optimize processes with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements and improve profitability.

The role requires 10+ years in airfreight, 5+ years of leadership, and experience with CargoWise. Competitive compensation and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in freight forwarding airfreight operations including handling, documentation, and clearance.
• 5+ years of leadership/management experience.
• Experience using CargoWise software is preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• People management and development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure and develop customer satisfaction.
• Ensure and develop employee engagement.
• Manage and improve P&L of Air Freight Export.
• Improve KPIs with DHL Global Forwarding teams.
• Collaborate with Air Freight network colleagues.
• Serve as point of contact for OPS and service quality issues.
• Support process improvements and adherence to global procedures.
• Contribute to country air freight product agenda and projects.
• Support gross profit improvement initiatives in-country.
• Communicate policy implications and assist training at stations.
