Job summary

GEODIS USA, LLC in Franklin Square, NY is seeking an Air Freight Gateway Operations Manager to lead gateway operations, ensuring excellence, productivity, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will oversee interfaces between gateways and business units, driving cost-effective freight flows.

The role requires strong management experience, deep air freight knowledge and the ability to coordinate with multiple functions across the network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience.
• Broad knowledge of global customs regulations and policies in air freight and customs brokerage.
• Understanding of warehouse and CFS operations; extensive airfreight experience.
• PC literate; proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Export operation of the Gateway; oversee inbound and outbound freight flow.
• Set up capacity planning, allotments optimization, consolidation and share.
• Escalate incidents with stakeholders and communicate as needed.
• Assist with large opportunities; set spot rates to optimize cost of sale.
• Develop and maintain local relationships with carriers.
• Measure and achieve internal and external KPIs.
• Oversee ITP calculation to keep coverage within tolerance; interpret rate figures.
• Check and approve invoices per signing power regulations.
• Coordinate with Operations to ensure correct job costing and MAWB file assignments.
