Job summary

Expeditors, a global logistics company, is seeking an Air Export Agent to support operations, including processing export shipments and preparing necessary documentation. The role emphasizes data accuracy, proactive communication with customers and offices worldwide, and maintaining compliance.

The ideal candidate has 6 months to 1 year of related experience, an understanding of air documentation, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work overtime.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Understanding of air documentation process is a plus.
• Effective interpersonal skills, including active listening and clear communication.
• Must be able to work overtime in support of department needs.
• IATA certification preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Track and Trace shipments.
• Prepare, handle, and process shipment documentation, including house and master air waybills, commercial documents, and customs/regulatory documents.
• Accurate and timely data entry into operating system.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, Expeditors offices worldwide, and coworkers via email, phone, instant messaging and in person.
• Monitor reports.
• Accurate and timely client billing.
• Maintain relationships with service providers such as airlines and trucking companies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Meet KPIs to support departmental goals.
• Seek opportunities to improve efficiency in department processes.
• Complete required 52 hours of annual training (company provided).

Air Export Agent will serve in an operations capacity, responsible for processing export shipments including accompanying export documentation. Major duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• Track and Trace shipments.
• Prepare, handle, and process shipment documentation- including house and master air waybills, commercial documents, and customs/regulatory documents.
• Accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, other Expeditors offices worldwide, and co-workers through high volume of email, phone, instant message, and person to person.
• Monitor reports.
• Accurate and timely client billing.
• Contribute to maintaining strong service provider relationships- airlines, trucking companies, and others.
• Maintain compliance standards at all times- including internal policies and procedures, external government regulations, and customer requirements.
• Meet key performance indicators to support department, branch, product, and company goals.
• Desire to understand overall department process flow and constantly seek opportunities for improved efficiency.
• Training and Development - must obtain required 52 hours of annual training. (company provided)

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Understanding of air documentation process a plus
• Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
• Must have the ability to work overtime in support of department needs
• Pro-active, strong organizational skills
• IATA certification (preferred)
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
