Airco Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd seeks an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer to join our Hull team. You will service and maintain client sites, respond to service calls, and contribute to surveys and quotes on a 24-hour rota.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning with F-Gas compliance, plus hands-on experience with VRV systems and chillers. A professional, proactive communicator is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning and F-Gas compliance.

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer

Location: Hull

Status: Full‑Time, Salaried

Salary: Up to £20 per hour – dependent on experience; commensurate with education and experience.

Job Overview

Airco is recruiting an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer to support a growing engineering team. The role involves carrying out planned and preventative maintenance, responding to service calls, conducting site surveys, reports and quotes, and working as part of a 24‑hour call‑out rota. Engineers service a prestigious client base across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, petrochemical, telecoms, education, IT, retail, healthcare and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Mobile engineer – travel to client sites as required.
• Diagnose, identify faults and failures with equipment and systems and provide effective solutions.
• Carry out routine planned preventive maintenance.
• Work to the highest standards of workmanship and safety.
• Conduct and promote best practice.
• Participate in the 24‑hour call‑out rota.
• Assist in site surveys, reports and quotes for new and existing customers.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning; F‑Gas/EN 378 compliant.
• Proficient technical knowledge in refrigeration and electrical principles.
• Hands‑on experience with VRV systems, cold rooms, close‑control units, chilled‑water systems and chillers.
• Fault‑finding experience on a range of equipment, including data‑centre cooling and water chillers.
• Good understanding of industry standards, legislation and compliance requirements.
• Positive and pro‑active approach.
• Well‑organised, effective communicator.
• High level of professionalism and customer service.
