Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. in Horicon, WI seeks an Assembly Lead for the 1st shift to assist the Supervisor in directing the Assembly Line and training assemblers.

This role emphasizes safety, organization, and throughput, with a 6am–2pm Monday–Friday schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, precise dimensioning, and math skills, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a lean manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Able to perform dimensional measurements and learn precision tools.
• Capable of basic math and maintaining attention to detail.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a safety-conscious environment.
• Experience leading manufacturing teams preferred.
• Lean manufacturing environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Supervisor in directing and guiding assemblers.
• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions and parts lists.
• Coordinate orders with material handling and Production Control.
• Position parts using templates or measurements and assemble components.
• Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
• Resolve assembly issues and communicate needs to supervisor.
• Contribute to schedule planning for efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and inventory of supplies.
• Document actions and support continuous improvement.
• Follow corporate and plant safety standards.
