Job summary

ACF Industrial Energy is seeking a Service Technician to repair and maintain air compressors and components in shop and field settings. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, read manuals and work orders, and report issues to the service manager.

The role involves after-hours support and occasional travel to client sites across the region. You will use hand and power tools, meters, and PPE to ensure safe operation.

Qualifications

• Experience with compressed air systems and components.

• Strong basic math skills for work orders and calculations.
• Safety-conscious, able to use NFPA 70E PPE.
• Proficient with mechanical hand tools to repair equipment.
• Refrigeration recovery experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied conditions.
• Lifts up to 100 lbs and handles physical tasks daily.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain compressed air systems and components.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs, after-hours and weekends per schedule.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on compressed air systems.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Perform basic calculations for work orders and airflow formulas.
• Use hand/power tools, meters, and lifting equipment.
• Identify faulty operations and report to service manager promptly.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and company vehicles/work sites.
• Drive company vehicle to job sites; overnight travel may be required.
• May perform welding, winching, hoisting and pallet handling.
• May tow trailers or portable air compressors as needed.

Job Summary

Service Technicians are responsible for performing shop and/or field repairs, maintenance service and troubleshooting of air compressors and its components. This technician will support Northern Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform technical skills including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of compressed air systems and accessories
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of compressed air systems and/or accessories both during normal working hours and after-hours, weekends, and holidays as directed
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance service and/or repairs of compressed air systems and/or accessories
• Read and interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics, general compressed air equipment literature, and work orders to perform required maintenance and/or repairs
• Perform basic mathematical calculations; including but not limited to, totaling work orders and basic compressed air formulas
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report them and any other unusual situations to the service manager in a timely manner
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly shop work areas, company vehicles, and job site work areas
• Drive company vehicle to and from job sites throughout the day. Overnight travel by land and/or air may be required on occasion

Additional Job Functions

• May perform work requiring the use of welding tools, winch, pulley, hoist and/or pallet jack
• May be required to tow a trailer or portable air compressor using Company vehicle

Experience And Skills

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including physical and work environment)

• Working knowledge of compressed air systems and its components, including knowledge of the mechanical operation, associated hazards, and proper usage of the equipment
• Ability to interpret schematics and operational manuals for practical application on repair and maintenance tasks
• Working knowledge of fundamental mathematical operations
• Ability to take preventative safety measures to avoid electrical shock, limit exposure to loud noises, and prevent personal injury by using personal protective equipment, including the use of NFPA 70E protective equipment when applicable
• Skilled usage of mechanical tools utilized to repair and maintain compressed air systems and their components
• Must have Refrigeration Recovery Experience
• Ability to perform duties in non-climate controlled environments such as outdoor weather conditions and non-weather related wet, humid and/or extreme heat conditions
• Position requires extended periods of standing, extended periods of sitting while driving, as well as bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, kneeling, squatting and the use of hands to finger, handle and feel
• Ability to lift and/or move heavy objects up to 100 lbs throught the work day

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications (education, work experience, licenses/certifications)

• High School or equivalent (GED)
• 5 to 7 years of related work experience or training or equivalent combination of both education and experience
• Motor Vehicle Record must be in good standing and comply with Company policy
• Experience on Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco, Quincy, Kaeser, Sullair, Gardner Denver, Kobelco, Boge, Kaishan compressors are a plus
