Job summary

Apple is seeking a senior researcher to shape the future of LLM-powered experiences across the ecosystem. You will design post-training strategies, drive data for instruction following, and collaborate with pre-training and product teams to translate user needs into model capabilities.

You will advance architectures, evaluation methodologies, and safety, while tackling real-world challenges in scale, reasoning, and privacy-forward integration.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in deep learning with a focus on LLMs, post-training, or reinforcement learning.
• Proficient programming in Python and a major DL framework (JAX or PyTorch).
• Masters/PhD, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science, ML, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and iterate on end-to-end post-training strategies (including RL) to unlock model capabilities.
• Pioneer novel algorithms for preference optimization, model steering, and safety.
• Drive data strategy with high-quality human and synthetic data generation, filtering, and curriculum learning.
