Job Description

Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self‑help, behavior management and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements
  • Work under the supervision of teacher(s)
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative guidelines, local board policy and state law
  • Assist the teacher(s) in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays
  • Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher(s)
  • Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments
  • Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom
Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
  • Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
  • Motion: Frequent walking
  • Lifting: Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds); occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
  • Environment: Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
  • Mental Demands: Maintain control under stress

The district contributes $400 monthly to the cost of "employee‑only" health insurance which is $175 monthly greater than the state required amount of $225 monthly.

Compensation

Pay Grade: Paraprofessional, Pay Grade 1, 187 Days

Minimum: $12.04

Midpoint: $14.50

Salary: $12.04 to $16.97 Per Hour
