Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the teacher with classroom activities.
  • Uphold and enforce school rules and policies.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining teaching materials.

  • Supervise students during the school day inside and outside the classroom.
  • Keep the teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
  • Assist in preparing or adapting teaching materials for individual needs.
  • Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.

  • Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.

Job Description
Primary Purpose

Assist the teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements, work under the supervision of a certified teacher. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Educational Aide II certification (may obtain upon hire)

Experience

Verifiable experience working with children (e.g., daycare, Sunday school, sports, girl/boy scouts)

Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Support and assist the teacher or teaching team with teaching duties, including working in small groups or with individual students to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
  • Reinforce appropriate behavior in accordance with teacher’s plan and school plan and assist in classroom discipline and behavior management as developed by the ARD committee.
  • Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
  • Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
  • Assist in preparing, modifying, or adapting teaching materials or equipment to individual needs of students.
  • Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist the teacher in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
  • Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
