Job summary

ByteDance is seeking PhD-level interns for an internship focused on advanced vision systems for AR/VR hardware. You will work on low-latency, energy‑efficient perception pipelines and novel hardware architectures to run state‑of‑the‑art ML algorithms.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate system requirements into cloud‑edge workloads and edge ML accelerator needs, contributing to next‑gen sensors and real‑time understanding capabilities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related field.
• Experience in research related to computer vision, edge ML perception, or AI accelerator design.
• Proficiency with C/C++, MATLAB and Python.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and develop a power-efficient, low-latency, highly‑intelligent all‑day machine perception vision system.
• Develop training, data collection/generation pipelines with ML frameworks for scene understanding.
• Map ML algorithms to HW accelerators, identify bottlenecks and optimize HW/SW co-design.
