Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an AI Control Systems Engineer for the Vehicle Control Technology Team in the Vehicle Control Software Department.

You will leverage machine learning, reinforcement learning, and MPC to improve performance, efficiency, and customer experience in NA-market vehicles, focusing on challenging NA-use cases like towing and off-road maneuvers. You will design ML algorithms to replace or augment sensors, predict failures, and personalize driver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 1-7 years applying ML/AI to control problems.
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for ML and embedded code.
• Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of RL or DL for time-series/control problems.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow.
• Solid grasp of classical/modern control theory (PID, MPC, Kalman).
• Understanding of vehicle dynamics and automotive networks.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML-based control strategies for vehicle dynamics in NA market.
• Engineer ML to augment sensors and predict component failures.
• Optimize AI models for embedded ECUs with real-time constraints.
• Transition algorithms from simulation to hardware prototyping.
• Test and tune control algorithms in-vehicle and on NA proving grounds.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present results.
