Job summary

Prolific is seeking Environmental Researchers and Sustainability Experts to join our Expert Network to help train and evaluate AI models using real-world ecological and climate expertise. If successful, you’ll be invited to join Prolific as a participant and paid to train and evaluate AI models from home.

Responsibilities include reviewing AI-generated climate data, validating emissions factors, and annotating geospatial datasets to ensure accuracy and policy alignment with IPCC standards.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Environmental Science, Ecology, Climate Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in environmental impact assessment (EIA), climate modeling, conservation research, or ESG reporting.
• Deep understanding of carbon accounting, biodiversity metrics, renewable energy systems, or environmental policy.
• Ability to identify errors in climate data interpretations, carbon footprint calculations, or ecological taxonomies.
• Proficiency in interpreting GIS data, satellite imagery, and longitudinal environmental datasets.
• Ability to synthesize environmental regulations or scientific findings into clear, actionable summaries.
• A PayPal account to receive payment from our clients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-Generated Research: review model responses for scientific accuracy and nuance.
• Fact-Check Environmental Claims: validate AI data on emissions factors, legislative requirements, and standards.
• Assess Sustainability Logic: critique AI-proposed solutions for waste reduction, supply chain, and habitat restoration.
• Annotate Geospatial & Technical Data: identify and correct errors in maps, risk assessments, and species models.
• Ensure Policy Alignment: verify AI responses align with IPCC reports and international standards.
