Job summary

eBay Inc. is seeking a data analytics engineer to drive AI-powered analytics across platforms. You will convert telemetry into data products, build scalable pipelines, and develop dashboards to monitor latency, availability, and routing changes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with TE, SRE, Platform, App, and Product teams to improve reliability and scalability of analytics workflows.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• Or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years analytics/data engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL programming, data modeling, and debugging.
• Experience building reliable batch and/or streaming data workflows.
• Familiarity with data warehouse or lakehouse concepts, distributed processing, and Linux basics.
• Experience with Spark, Databricks, Flink, Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, Snowflake, Kafka, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Convert telemetry and traffic signals into high-quality datasets and data products.
• Build scalable data pipelines and features for AI and forecasting, including anomaly detection and capacity forecasting.
• Develop dashboards and analytic experiences covering latency, availability, error rates, and routing changes.
• Apply statistical methods to identify patterns, quantify impact, and surface drivers.
• Improve analytics confidence with data quality checks, validation, and alerting.
• Collaborate with Traffic Engineering, SRE, Platform, App, and Product teams to connect telemetry to user experience.
