Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Quality Engineer to advance our AI-driven testing efforts. You will design and maintain automation in Java and Python, perform API and database testing, and own feature quality from requirements to sign-off.

You will collaborate with product and dev teams, and contribute to AI/ML test plans and bias checks. The position is based in Cognizant offices in the US with relocation to a major metro area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–1 year professional QA/QE experience.
• Hands-on experience with test automation scripts/frameworks in Java and Python.
• Familiar with STLC and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Interest or experience testing AI-powered apps (chatbots/ML).
• Hands-on with Hybrid Automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions).
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker) knowledge.
• Eagerness to learn latest AI/testing trends.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks in Java and Python.
• Perform API testing using Postman or Rest Assured.
• Conduct SQL queries for data validation and integrity.
• Own quality for features; write and execute comprehensive test suites.
• Track and report progress using JIRA, ADO, or ALM; understand CI/CD.
